Wanted to love

I was really hoping to love this product. But it left my skin feeling sticky.

Not the best for dry skin

I use Estee Launder products off and on, as I'm not the biggest fan of how fragranced their products tend to be. In the interest of paring down my morning makeup routine, I hoped this primer really was as hydrating as it claims. I don't have dry skin all over my face, mainly the cheek area. My T-zone can run oily, though mainly in warmer weather. Since I was using this in cooler weather, I didn't worry about it making my face too oily.As a combination serum and primer, this product for my skin ended up being hit and miss - about 75% good days and 25% bad days. For those with dry skin, this product doesn't provide enough hydration to keep your skin happy throughout the day. Directions say to use with their moisturizing foundation, but I don't like EL foundations. I used with a couple different brands of foundations, all moisturizing, but still ended up more often than not with dry patches on my cheeks. My T-zone was generally fine, and I didn't have any issue with foundation pilling up over this serum primer. The only way to fix the dry cheek issue was to apply this serum primer over everything on my face except cheeks, and while that sunk in apply more moisturizer to my cheeks, let that sink in, then apply this serum primer over that. Using this serum primer ended up adding steps into my morning routine. I also didn't notice much of a radiance/glow/luminescence with this primer. And with my super pale skin, I was really looking forward to this little boost.Overall, I think this serum primer would work best for those with normal or normal/slightly oily skin if being used under makeup. If being used as simply a moisturizing serum underneath a heavier moisturizing cream/lotion, then I have to admit it works great. While the dropper helps minimize bacteria and whatnot getting into the container, an airless pump would have been a better choice. Droppers never get all the product out of the bottle, and product can get lodged in the glass tube and/or rubber squeeze bulb where it doesn't always get mixed in with the rest of the product.

Hydrating Primer That Works Seamlessly with Foundation

I was intrigued by the serum in this primer, especially since I already use Estée Lauder foundation, and I’m glad I gave it a try. I only need a couple of drops to smooth it all over my face before applying my foundation, and it makes a noticeable difference. This primer helps my foundation go on more smoothly, ensuring an even finish. My skin feels hydrated, and the smoothness lasts throughout the day, keeping my makeup intact and looking fresh.Overall, I’m impressed with how well this primer performs. It not only hydrates my skin but also enhances the texture of my foundation. If you’re looking for a primer that does both, I’d recommend giving it a go.

Works well!

This Estee Lauder serum primer works great at hydrating my skin to prepare it for makeup. It's not heavy or oily and doesn't make my foundation pill or separate like some serums can. The hyaluronic acid helps keep my skin smooth so there's no flakiness when I apply my other products/makeup.
